Announcement of PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for January 2023

It’s Christmas! Well, technically speaking, it is no longer, right? However, Sony is still celebrating the holidays, as evidenced by the timely announcement of the PS Plus Essential games for January 2023. If you were paying attention in the days leading up to the holidays, you may have noticed that this roster had been leaked a few days ago; however, it is now a fact. Starting from Tuesday, 3rd January, 2023, you’ll be able to download:

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS5, PS4)
Axiom Verge 2 (PS5, PS4)
Fallout 76 (PS4)

This is an irrefutably solid beginning to the year, with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order arrives before the sequel to Respawn. When this character action game first came out, we were blown away by how good it was, calling it “one of the best Star Wars games ever.” That is high praise because the sci-fi series has produced some excellent episodes over the years.

The release of Axiom Verge 2 is met with similar praise: It’s the sequel to one of the best independent Metroidvania games of recent years. If you like side-scrolling adventures in that style, you’ll like this one. Last but not least, despite the fact that Fallout 76 was initially regarded as a minor failure, the game has made significant advancements over the years and is now truly worth playing.

Thus, January has gotten off to a strong start. Also worth noting is that from Tuesday, January 3, 2023, PS Plus Extra subscribers will also be able to download WWE 2K22 for the PS4, even though the native PS5 version won’t be included in the service. However, subscribers to Sony’s higher tier receive a small bonus.
