The Yankees are preparing to get Jonathan Loisiga back

The Toronto-Yankees are expected to add right-hander Jonathan Loisiga to the bullpen on Wednesday, Aaron Boone said before the Yankees’ 7-2 victory over the Blue Jays on Tuesday night.

Loisiga has been out with a right shoulder strain since September 5th.

Prior to the injury, Loisiga was the Yankees’ most effective deterrent. Before he scored on his most recent trip on Sept. 3, Loisiga had conceded just one run in 15 games, with a period of 18 ² / ₃ innings left.

Luis Severino, February 2020 A recent addition to the bullpen after Tommy John returns from surgery, the bottom of the eighth Tuesday 1-2-3. Gerrit Cole was impressed with Severino’s first two games, when he threw a combined four shutout innings.

“I’m glad to see his feelings about his off-speed pitches,” Cole said. “It simply came to our notice then. It was an emotional pick-up for us and for the Yankees fans to see him back out. ”

Giancarlo Stanton, whose seventh-ranked Homer opened the game, was the designated hitter, but Boone said it wasn’t due to artificial turf in Toronto.

“I decided to keep [Stanton] out,” Boone said. “Turf wasn’t an element, especially at this stage of the season, when I’m going to give us the best chance of winning.”

Jio Urshe, who went 2-for-4 with a homer alone, is a bit tense. He is 17-for-47 (.362) in the last 13 games with nine runs, one double, three homers and six RBIs.

It was followed by an ugly eight game in which the third baseman was shortstop and went 3-for-23 without additional base hits or walks आणि and 10 strikeouts.
