Jays won’t play a first home game in Buffalo until August 11

The displaced Toronto Blue Jays won’t begin playing in Buffalo until August 11.

The Blue Jays will play their first scheduled homestand – July 29 to Aug. 2 – on the road in Washington and Philadelphia.

Baseball started a 60-game season a week ago abbreviated as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The group said in an announcement Sunday there should be infrastructure alterations at Sahlen Field, where the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons generally play.

The Blue Jays will play in a minor league park in Buffalo this season since health authorities in Canada were stressed over frequent travel by players all through the U.S., one of the nations hardest by the pandemic. Canada has straightened the epidemic curve.
