2025 World Aquatics Championships swimming tournament, which features many Olympic winners as the main event, will take place from July 27 to August 3.

The top athletes will line up on the starting blocks for the competition, which will be held at Singapore’s 4,800-seat World Aquatics Championships Arena and feature 42 sets of medals. This includes swimming legend Katie Ledecky, who recently shattered her own nearly ten-year-old world record, and summer McIntosh and Leon Marchand, the breakout stars of Paris 2024.

American Gretchen Walsh, who set world records this year in the 50- and 100-meter freestyles as well as the 50-meter butterfly, is another potential standout. Walsh is anticipated to compete in three gold-winning relays.

The women’s 800-meter free, which is expected to feature a matchup between Ledecky and McIntosh, is the most anticipated world championship race on August 2.

McIntosh is ranked first in the world in four of the five individual competitions he is competing in this year. She will become the second swimmer after Phelps to win five individual golds at a single worlds if she wins those four and defeats Ledecky in the 800-meter free.

Marchand first competed in the 200- and 400-meter individual medleys, the 200-meter breaststroke, and the 200-meter butterfly—the same four events he won at the Paris Games.
