CAFA Nations Cup 2025: Gurpreet is Included in Khalid Jamil’s 23-Member Squad

CAFA Nations Cup 2025: Senior goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is back in the India roster of 23 players announced by head coach Khalid Jamil for the 2025 CAFA Nations Cup.

Beginning on August 29, the senior men’s national team of India will compete in the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Nations Cup 2025, following Malaysia’s withdrawal from the tournament due to player unavailability and logistical concerns.

India is in Group B, and the match will take place at Dushanbe. India will host Iran on September 1, Afghanistan on September 4, and Tajikistan on August 29.

Two games will be played on September 8 to determine which two clubs advance to the play-off stage from each group. In Dushanbe, the two group runners-up will face off for third place, while in Tashkent, the two group winners will square off in the final.

Afghanistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Kygryz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are the six countries that make up CAFA. The two teams invited to the second CAFA Nations Cup are Oman and India. After defeating Uzbekistan 1-0 in the 2023 final, Iran is the reigning champion.
