IPL 2019: Can Chennai Super Kings continue their Supremacy?

IPL – 2019 is approaching and so as the thrilling encounter. On 23rdMarch M.S.Dhoni’s led Chennai Super Kings will take on Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore. Two of the World’s biggest superstar will fight against each other.

Chennai is one of the most successful IPL teams. The defending Champions will again look to maintain their dominance.

They bought just two players from this year’s auction which shows how confident they are with their current squad.

Last year there were talks about their aged players, but they proved everyone wrong by winning the IPL. Their average team age is nearly 32 which means they have quality experienced players with them.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Talking about their strengths, they bat deep & with Kedar Jadhav ready to play they have plenty of all-rounders and match winners that can take the game away from the opposition. Jadeja, Bravo, Watson, Santner they can provide the balance in both departments. Also, they have the most experience side in IPL. They have Suresh Raina who is on the verge of becoming the fastest player to complete 5000 runs in IPL.

Age factors work in both ways. When it comes to their fielding, they lack fast and quick fielders. Also, their death bowling is a little concern as they don’t have any experience bowler in their line up to cover up. However, they bought Mohit Sharma who had a lot of experience in the IPL. They will hope their players can maintain their good performances throughout the long season because they don’t have many back-ups for their first eleven.

What’s next?

They had already settled their line up which is almost the same as the previous year.

There have been tremendous match-winners for CSK. Every time they were on the losing side someone came and won the match for their team single-handedly. The unity, the togetherness, the atmosphere they have in their camp is the sole reason behind their success.

Can they kick-start with the win? With famous yellow colour behind them and cheering them, they will start as favourites against RCB, but you never know anything, after all, its IPL.

Possible line up:-

Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Faf Du Plessis, M.S.Dhoni (Captain & W.K.), Kedar Jadhav, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Mohit Sharma, Imran Tahir
