Many UAB players to miss the Miami game

UAB will be in need of help Thursday for its game against Miami.

Blazers head coach Bill Clark revealed to Christian Chambers of WBRC Fox6 on Wednesday as his team departed Birmingham that they will be without various players because of positive COVID-19 tests.

“We got a couple of guys that won’t be going with us this time, but other than that we did great. We have still done really well,” Clark said.

Clark didn’t uncover which players aren’t traveling in spite of the fact that he shared with Chambers that none of his starters tested positive.

“We’re testing now three times a week ourself and then we are testing when we get there for the ACC,” Clark said. “Like I said before, we’re testing more probably than anybody in the country right now, but you know extra safe, extra cautious. We’ll have masks on when on the bus and on the plane. So we’re doing everything we can.”

UAB opened its season a week ago with a 45-35 win over Central Arkansas. Spencer Brown ran for 127 yards and a touchdown in the success while Austin Watkins, who is identified with Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and previous Clemson star Sammy Watkins, got seven goes for 72 yards.
