Zach Wilson returned to Jets camp in a big way

Zack attack
A day after the Jets allowed eight “sacks” in practice, QB Zach Wilson completed 12 of 15 passes as the scheme shifted to getting the ball out of his hands quickly on short routes. Wilson’s best completion was WR Elijah Moore cutting his face off with a sidearm toss in traffic, while Tarik Black and Jeff Smith made highlight catches for other quarterbacks. Wilson was “sacked” once, but also turned an RPO into a touchdown run.

Showing some fight
OT Grant Hermanns and DE Micheal Clemons started punching and shoving after the whistle and some shots went high around their necks, though it didn’t look like closed-fist punches were thrown. Between the whistles, rookie WR Garrett Wilson had two drops – one to Joe Flacco and one to Mike White.

Caught my eye
Former Jets receiver Brandon Marshall was practicing for his “Me Athlete” podcast. He was no ordinary media member, however, as he made a catch on the sideline and stepped onto the field to pick up the flag and loudly remind the defensive player that his pass breakup didn’t count for pass interference.

Medical reports
CB Brandin Echols joins CB D.J. Reed and RB Ty Johnson on the hamstring injury list. Head coach Robert Saleh is optimistic Reid will return next week. OT Conor McDermott (ankle) remains out.
