In the first innings, Delhi Capitals looked good against the spinners of Royal Challengers Bangalore, scoring 64 off 43 balls without losing. However, they experienced an abrupt collapse, losing all 10 wickets for just 49 runs, which quickly sapped their momentum. Midway through their innings, Delhi Capitals’ main player, Meg Lanning, who was trying to turn things around, was removed leg before wicket by Shreyanka. As a result of this development, Delhi Capitals were dismissed for 113 runs.

Smriti Mandhana (31), Sophie Devine (32), and Ellyse Perry (35 not out) were notable RCB contributors.

After making it to three previous final appearances in 2009, 2011, and 2016, the victory was a huge moment for RCB.
