Toronto Blue Jays join Dante Bichette to the coaching staff

Dante Bichette, Bo Bichette’s father, has joined the Toronto Blue Jays coaching staff full time as indicated by TSN Blue Jays Reporter Scott Mitchell.

Mitchell reports that players have talked him up all spring and into day camp and he has been referenced as an important resource by various hitters.

While Jays fans would be more acquainted with the 22-year-old shortstop, it is Dante who has the more impressive MLB resume to date.

The senior Bichette had a 14-year career went through essentially with the Colorado Rockies. He was a four-time All-Star and the National League’s leading home run hitter in 1995. He completed as a .299 career hitter with 274 total home runs.

Following their 6-4 triumph on opening day, the Jays will proceed with their series at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay Saturday afternoon.
