Saints who signed Marcus Maya in place of Marcus Williams

Saints see security Marcus Williams agrees terms with Ravens on Tuesday, while security Marcus May saw his former team, the Jets, agree to Jordan Whitehead’s safety terms. So the saints left in search of safety and Maya in search of a new team.

Saints and Maya agreed on Tuesday night to a three-year, 28.5 million deal with a 15 million guarantee, NFL media reports.

He is ranked 48th in PFT’s Top-100 Free Agents.

The Jets used the franchise tag on Maya in 2021, but its season did not go as expected by both sides.

Jet was not notified of the DUI charges incurred by Maya in a car accident in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on February 22, 2021, before the team used the $ 10.6 million tag on him.

Maya, 29, played just six games before tearing Achilles.

The Jets selected Maya for the second round in 2017 and left New York with 312 tackles, six interceptions, four forced fumbles and 24 pass breakups.
