PSG accepts a record-breaking transfer offer from a Saudi Pro League team for Kylian Mbappe: Report

According to reports, PSG has accepted Al Hilal’s transfer record offer for Kylian Mbappe. Al Hilal compete in the Saudi Pro League, which is played by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kylian Mbappe’s refusal to sign a 12-month contract extension, which would have allowed him to leave PSG as a free agent after the 2023–24 season, surprised the PSG administration. The 24-year-old’s contract expires in 2024, therefore he must consent to one by July 1. The 2018 FIFA World Cup champion recently informed the board in a letter of his decision to leave as a free agent after the 2019–20 campaign.

Mbappe arrived at PSG from Monaco on loan in 2017, and a year later, he made the transfer permanent in a transaction of 145 million euros plus 35 million further euros. Real Madrid is now thought to be the Frenchman’s best option for a destination. It has been reported that the forward has already reached an agreement with the La Liga powerhouses, who are the favorites to sign him. But PSG is making every effort to sell their star forward during the current transfer window because they don’t want him to depart for free.

Another factor in the Frenchman’s decision to quit PSG after the 2018–19 campaign is that he has a contract with the club that guarantees him up to 150 million euros in wages and bonuses over the following year, money he does not want to forgo.

Marquinhos, the PSG captain, has also spoken out about the continuing transfer crisis. It is a tricky question, he remarked in a statement to goal.com. Although Kylian is a superb athlete and a powerhouse, the decision is with management, which we must understand. We constantly strive to advance with the best players. I’m hoping that a workable solution will be discovered so that he rejoins the team and assists us this season.
