Players union responds to NFL appeal of Deshaun Watson’s suspension

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The NFL Players Association announced Friday that it has filed a response brief to the NFL’s appeal of Deshaun Watson’s discipline.

NFLPA: “We have filed our reply brief to the NFL’s appeal regarding the Deshaun Watson matter.”

The NFL announced Wednesday that it is appealing the 6-game suspension for the Cleveland Browns quarterback. The NFL initially sought a full-year suspension.

On Thursday, the NFL announced Commissioner Roger Goodell’s honorary designation. Peter Harvey will hear the petition.

Former federal judge Sue L. Robinson found Watson guilty of violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, which she called “predatory behavior.”

Watson has settled 23 of the 24 sexual assault cases filed against him.

It is not known when the appeal will be decided.
