Pakistan took the lead in the two-Test series after defeating Sri Lanka by 4 wickets

After scoring a double century in the first innings while being under extreme pressure, Saud Shakeel was named player of the match.

In the opening cricket test on Thursday, Pakistan made it difficult at times to win by four wickets against Sri Lanka.

Imam-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s opening batsman, made an unbeaten half-century, his eighth in test cricket, to help the visitors advance before lunch on the fifth day despite Pakistan continuing to lose wickets often.

With Pakistan needing four runs, Agha Salman entered the field at the fall of the sixth wicket. He then sent Jayasuriya sailing over long-off for six to give Pakistan the victory.

After scoring a double century in the first innings despite being put under a lot of strain, Shakeel was named man of the match.

The second test will start in Colombo on Monday.
