An event like this in men’s cricket is being held in Africa for the first time. South Africa and Nigerian women won silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the women’s African T20 Cup, with Zimbabwean women taking home the gold.

Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Namibia are the eight teams that are competing in the tournament. Each of two groups comprising four teams is formed from the teams.

Group A- South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda

Group B- Nigeria and Namibia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania

During the league stages, each team will play three games in a single round-robin format. The Semi Finals will be contested by the top two teams from each group. The Semi-Final winners will then square off in the Championship match. On the day of the finals, there will also be a match for the Bronze Medal in third place.

Respective Teams’ Captains:

  1. Zimbabwe – Clive Madande
  2. South Africa – George van Heerden
  3. Ghana- Samson Awiah
  4. Kenya – Rakep Patel
