IPL 2019- DAY 9- MATCH 11: RCB vs SRH

These few days of the Indian Premier League has given us so many things that we can talk of it for the whole season. Yesterday we had a super over for the first time in the last two years. We had a ‘mankading’ incident for the first time in the history of IPL. We had some series of high scoring matches, nail-biting finishes and what not. All of these in just a few days. Surely IPL has evolved a lot in terms of the way teams play on the field.

Today being a Sunday we have two matches. First being Royal Challengers Bangalore going up against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

David Warner, Jonny Bairstow and Vijay Shankar’s performance in the last match suggests that SRH’s batting has found a way to chase whatever is being put up on the board by the opposition. However, the only concern that they have is their bowling. SRH’s bowlers have not shown the same intensity for which they are known. Specially Bhubaneswar Kumar who has been their front line pacer from past many years. His bowling in the death overs has lost its luster.

RCB, on the other hand, is doing everything wrong. Both their bowling and batting don’t seem to go in sync. One day their bowlers do a good job and their batsmen fail and vice-versa. This is not just a story of this season but RCB has done this almost every year of the IPL. On paper, this side comprises of some of the best in the world. But players are not performing up to their potential.

SRH’s recent performance suggests that they have an upper hand over RCB. They are the sure favorite in this match. RCB needs to perform on a different level if they want to win today’s match.

No changes are expected in today’s match for both sides.
