The second match of the day is between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Mumbai Indians did pretty well in their last match against CSK. They had a balanced squad in the last match. But today Lasith Malinga will not be playing as he is in Sri Lanka to participate in their domestic one-day competition. Mitchell McClenaghan can replace him in the squad.
MI ticked every box in the last game and have found a momentum which will not be easy for SRH to break.
SRH has a deadly trio of David Warner, Jonny Bairstow and Vijay Shankar at the top. The only issue for SRH this season is their bowling. A team which once defended one of the lowest totals in the history of IPL is giving away runs as a freebie gifts. As a matter of fact, a total of 7 centuries were scored in this year as well as last year’s IPL combined and 5 of them were scored against SRH only.
Their front-line bowler Bhubaneswar Kumar went wicketless in first three matches, Rashid Khan as well has not performed well with the ball.
But in the last match against Delhi Capitals Mohammad Nabi performed both with the bat and ball. Also, Bhuvi picked up two wickets.
Although there are many issues with SRH, they have played well as a team against every opponent. This will be the key in today’s match against MI and SRH will be favorite in the match because of the home advantage as well as their batting lineup.
