A team which started so well in the first few weeks that many people announced them as the winner of this year’s IPL. One team which was so good on paper that many people thought that they will win the league before even the IPL started. Now both the teams are separated by a single team. Kolkata Knight Riders are on the 6th position while Royal Challengers Bangalore are last on the points table.
Both the team have some quality players but both the teams are depended on few players. For KKR it is Andre Rusell while for RCB it is Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
Andre Rusell was injured during the net practice but he is playing the game. For RCB, Dale Steyn will make a comeback after 9 years. During the initial phase of the IPL, Steyn was a part of RCB but he was released after 2010 and was bought by Deccan Chargers in the following year. Steyn then went on to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Lions. This year he was not picked up by any team but due to an injury to Nathan Coulter-Nile, RCB has drafted him into their team.
KKR have lost their last 3 games. Good thing for them is that Chris Lynn has regained his lost form. In the last match against Chennai Super Kings, he scored 82 runs on 51 balls.
Last time these two teams played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. KKR chased a target of 206 runs due to Andre Rusell’s 48 of 13 balls.
Today’s match is at Eden Gardens. Pitch will have a lot of bounce which will help the fast bowlers a lot. The key here would be to elect bowling after winning the toss.
