India Wins the Four Nations Junior Women’s Hockey Match Against Uruguay 3-2

Junior women’s hockey team from India defeated Uruguay 3-2 in their second game in the Four Nations Tournament in Rosario, Argentina, on Sunday thanks to two goals from Kanika Siwach.

Milagros Seigal (3′) and Agustina Mari (24′) scored goals for Uruguay in the match in Rosario, while Sonam (21′) was on goal for India in addition to Kanika (46′, 50′).

Milagros Seigal’s penalty-corner goal in the third minute gave Uruguay the lead early in the match.

In the 21st minute of the second quarter, Sonam converted a penalty corner to tie the score for India. But three minutes later, Uruguay took the lead again thanks to a penalty corner goal by Agustina Mari.

Kanika Siwach scored a vital brace in the closing seconds to help India win, although the game was still tied at the end of the third quarter.

Kanika’s two goals, one from a penalty corner and the other from a field goal, sealed the victory as India rallied in the last quarter.

India’s next match is against Argentina, the host on Tuesday.
