‘Impeachment: American Crime Story’ teaser: Monica Lewinsky comes with a bounty of presents gifts in the first look at FX limited anthology series

On Wednesday, FX revealed the first teaser for Impeachment, the expected third season of the anthology series American Crime Story, which is set to debut on September 7.

Ryan Murphy’s limited series analyzes the national emergency that prompted the first impeachment of a U.S. President in longer than a century through the eyes of the women at the center of the events: Monica Lewinsky (Beanie Feldstein), Linda Tripp (Sarah Paulson) and Paula Jones (Annaleigh Ashford). Every one of the three were pushed into the public spotlight during a time of corrosive partisan rancor, moving politics and a changing media scene.

The trailer opens in Washington, D.C. in 1995, following a young lady as she moves toward President Clinton (Clive Owen) bearing a gift.

“Mr. President,” his secretary says. “Ms. Lewinsky’s here to see you.”

Impeachment: American Crime Story depends on the book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President by Jeffrey Toobin.

The series composed by Sarah Burgess is produced by 20th Television and FX Productions. Lewinsky, Feldstein, Henrietta Conrad and Jemima Khan likewise serve as producers, with Burgess, Murphy, Paulson, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, Brad Falchuk, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Michael Uppendahl executive producing.

Impeachment‘s all-star cast likewise incorporates Margo Martindale, Anthony Green, Betty Gilpin, Colin Hanks and more.

The most recent installment of American Crime Story comes three years after The Assassination of Gianni Versace, which recounted the story of the fashion designer’s (Édgar Ramírez) murder because of Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss).

The series’ first season, The People v. O.J. Simpson, analyzed the previous NFL star’s infamous murder trial, which started in 1994.

The People v. O.J. debuted in 2016 to critical acclaim. Claiming 9 Emmys and 22 nominations, it established American Crime Story as one of FX’s most acclaimed progressing series.
