Horizon League delays fall sports because of virus

The Horizon League has joined the list of conferences deferring all fall sports competition due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision effects men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball. It additionally impacts women’s golf, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, and spring sports that likewise have preseason competitions in the fall.

The Horizon League’s board of directors and council will choose later whether fall sports competition can happen in the spring. Individual league members will make decisions on training, practice and recruiting as per NCAA guidelines, as well as state and nearby rules.
