Boston Red Sox, Enrique Hernandez consent to 2-year, $14 million arrangement

The Boston Red Sox have consented to a two-year, $14 million arrangement with Enrique Hernandez, sources affirmed to ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Friday.

Hernandez, initially obtained from the Miami Marlins as a component of a seven-player exchange December 2014, was a critical machine gear-piece for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the course of recent years on account of his irresistible energy, protective flexibility and creation against left-gave pitching.

Hernandez, 29, is a profession .240/.313/.425 hitter, making him somewhat beneath class normal, however he can give premium protection as a center infielder and in the outfield. From 2016 to 2020, Hernandez aggregated 5.7 FanGraphs wins above substitution.

Probably the best feature with the Dodgers came in October, when he hit the tying homer in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series.

MLB Network was first to report the arrangement.
