After the Emerging Teams Asia Cup final, Irfan Pathan explodes as Pakistani supporters make fun of the former Indian star’s viral tweet

Irfan Pathan has responded after being made fun of by Pakistani supporters over a trending post after the Emerging Teams Asia Cup final.

Following the Green Army’s victory over India A in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 final on Sunday, a number of well-known members of the Pakistani cricket community, including Pakistan captain Babar Azam and renowned fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, shared heartfelt messages for the Pakistan A team. Pakistani fans also called out Irfan Pathan in a game where Sai Sudharsan’s dismissal on a “clear no ball” sparked a heated argument, as the former Indian all-rounder was referenced in a number of tweets.

Irfan was amusingly mocked by Pakistani fans for his popular tweet about a prior match between India and Pakistan. After Team India’s exciting victory over Babar and company at the T20 World Cup last year, the ex-Indian cricketer notoriously took a shot at Pakistan. Fans and followers of the Green Army brought up Irfan’s trending tweet when Pakistan A won the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 by defeating India A.

Mohammad Haris’ Pakistan A scored a staggering 352-8 in the 50-over match during the climactic match between the bitter rivals at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium. In addition to Saim Ayub’s (59) and Sahibzada Farhan’s (65), Tayyab Tahir’s (108) stunning century, the Green Army’s quick-fire half-centuries of 59 and 65 helped them reach a match-winning total. The Men In Blue were defeated in the championship game by 128 runs as Yash Dhull’s India A crumbled for 224 in 40 overs in reply. The best bowler for Pakistan A was Sufiyan Muqeem, who picked up three wickets and gave up 66 runs.
