Golden State Warriors unveil new “Statement” uniforms for 2022-23

The Golden State Warriors this morning unveiled their new “Statement Edition” (optional) uniforms for the upcoming 2022-23 NBA season. The announcement came on the 51st anniversary of his team changing their name from San Francisco to Golden State on August 2, 1971.

The new uniform is simple in its overall design – no, the Utah Jazz isn’t simple, but simple nonetheless. A deep royal blue base with yellow paint, no white trim or any other color anywhere. There are thick yellow stripes around the neck and in each hand (a thin blue line also encircles the neck), the “Golden State” arched in yellow at the front, with the player number at the bottom. Simple but good.

There is a double yellow stripe on the right side of the jersey (no stripe on the left), and the armband is about halfway past the shoulders. The right side striping continues to the shorts before it forms an arched line near the knees, similar to the support towers of the Bay Area Bridge. Between this arched yellow line and the end of the shorts is a little light blue, with stylized stripes of bridge within.

According to NBA rules, “statement edition” uniforms must be kept for at least three seasons, meaning that the Warriors will wear this new set until the end of the 2024–25 season, and perhaps longer if the team is wearing theirs. wants to be together

The Warriors announced that two more new uniforms are to arrive for the 2022–23 season, with a new Classic Edition uniform to be unveiled next week on August 8, followed by the annual City Edition set for November 10 later this year (This gives us a good idea of when the league-wide city edition is expected to launch as well).

These two yet-to-be-released jerseys (as well as the just-unveiled statement uniforms) were leaked as part of a league-wide leak in February. Act shocked.
