Indiana Pacers Defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder to Force a 7th Game in the NBA Finals

Indiana Pacers forced a winner-take-all Game 7 on Sunday after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 108-91 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals 2025 on Thursday, supported by a home crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The team’s performance was well-rounded, with Andrew Nembhard contributing 17 points and Obi Toppin leading the way with 20 points off the bench. The league’s MVP winner and All-NBA team honoree Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the visiting basketball team in scoring with 21 points, but Indiana’s defense and better play were the difference.

Indiana overcame a 10–2 deficit early on with a run of flawless shooting and never looked back. After the Pacers missed their first eight shots from the field, Andrew Nembhard took the lead early on and made their next six to grab a 21–15 lead.

Despite leading Oklahoma City with 21 points, NBA Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was responsible for eight of the Thunder’s 21 turnovers.

Jalen Williams, fresh off a 40-point effort in game five, missed all four of his three-point shots en route to 16 points, while Gilgeous-Alexander missed his only three-point try.

After trailing by 30 points entering the fourth quarter, the Thunder, who had won a league-high 68 games during the regular season, benched their starting lineup.

As the series returns to Oklahoma City for game seven on Sunday, the first game seven in the championship series since 2016, they will be looking for answers.

The Pacers are vying for their first-ever NBA championship, while Oklahoma City hopes to snap a title drought that dates back to 1979, when they were the Seattle SuperSonics.
