FIFA World Cup 2026: Rodri and Dani Carvajal have been added to Spain’s roster in preparation for their World Cup 2026 qualifying matches against Bulgaria and Turkey.
After missing time due to chronic knee ailments, both players are back playing for their clubs at the Club World Cup.
The team’s first Group E match is against Bulgaria on September 4, and on September 7, they will travel to Turkey.
The winner advances to the tournament in the US, Canada, and Mexico next summer. Georgia is the other country in the four-team group.
A damaged anterior cruciate ligament kept Manchester City midfielder Rodri out of action in September 2023, despite the fact that he was instrumental in Spain’s success at Euro 2024. During this summer’s Club World Cup, he returned to action.
Rodri a midfielder for Manchester City, was injured in September of that year after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament, and he didn’t return until this summer’s Club World Cup, despite having helped lead Spain to Euro 2024 victory.
The squad includes Barcelona players Lamine Yamal and Pedri as well as teammate Fermin Lopez, who has been linked to leaving the Catalan powerhouse. However, goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who recently joined the team, was left off the roster.
