A year ago, on the 19th of May, 2018, India’s maiden digital sports news and journalism channel, Power Sportz was launched at the Plenary Hall of Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Since then the channel strode past several milestones, whether it is viewership, reach, engagement, or making an impact on a slew of sporting issues.
Power Sportz is happy to announce the completion of a wonderful first year of its journey, covering a hive of murky sporting events be it India’s brilliant show in the Asian Games, the FIFA World Cup in Russia, the French Open, Wimbledon, Badminton Masters, Golf Masters, or the AFC Football Cup to the ongoing IPL. Now, the channel is all set to commemorate its first anniversary in a grand way.
The past year had been one of many firsts as the channel spread wings and started a bevy of new initiatives. Within a short span of time Power Sports garnered over 408 million views and counting. For its numerous interesting programs, the channel boasts 31 million users. It is nothing short of a pageantry of offerings that include news, views, match updates, highlights, players’ interviews and bytes, profiling of eminent sports personalities and more.
The flagship program of the channel, “Talking Turkey with Kanthi” has drawn over 93 million views (website + App). Chaired by the Editor-in-chief & founder of Power Sportz, Kanthi D. Suresh, the show hosts sports experts, athletes, lawyers, critics and members of many federations among others, debating on crucial sports issues, while upsetting many unscrupulous quarters along the way.
One of the major highlights was the launch of the Power Sportz App, both on Android and IOS. Since its launch, the app has been downloaded by more than four lakhs users. The app launch ensured that Power Sportz manage a wider reach, and easy accessibility.
Power Sportz also forayed into the world HD television viewing via the internet, making it available on Amazon Fire TV.
After managing to grow and maintain a global reach, Power Sportz takes pride to announce that it is bursting onto the international scene. Shortly, the channel is setting up its first studio office in Australia, before expanding to other foreign locations. As the first anniversary draws near, Power Sportz is all set to usher in a new trajectory of growth gathering many more milestones along the way. Incidently, the timing is coinciding with the World Cup, and Power Sportz hopes to capitalize on the same across global frontiers!
