Phil Helmuth broke the record with his 16th career World Series of Poker victory

Phil Helmath won the 16th World Series of Poker bracelet in his record-extended career in Las Vegas on Sunday, winning the first prize of $ 84,951 in the $ 1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Loball Draw.

Helmuth defeated Jake Schwartz Heads. This was Helmuth’s first WSOP victory since the $ 5,000 no-limit holdum event in 2018, and he now leads six WSOP victories ahead of Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan, who each have 10 WSOP bracelets.

According to WSOP, this was Helmuth’s 70th career WSOP final table appearance – a record – and his fourth such deep run since the start of the 2021 WSOP at the end of September.

Helmuth, 57, finished sixth in the $ 25,000 Horse Championship, fifth in the $ 10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship and fourth in the $ 10,000 Seven-Card Stud Championship.

Helmuth is now second in the 2021 WSOP Player of the Year race, behind Anthony Zino, who won the aforementioned seven-card stud championship and immediately came out on top, winning the second WSOP bracelet of 2021 in the recent $ 1,500 horse race.
