Los Angeles Lakers’ JaVale McGee, Dion Waiters exit right on time with wounds

The Los Angeles Lakers lost two individuals from their turn to wounds in Sunday’s Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals as JaVale McGee (left ankle pain) and Dion Waiters (pulled left groin) left early and didn’t return.

The Lakers dominated the match 117-109 to tie the series 1-1.

McGee began at center against the small-ball centric Houston Rockets however played only eight minutes, gathering two bounce back and one block and going 0-for-1 from the field before being precluded in the second from last quarter. The Lakers were outscored by eight points in the time he was on the floor.

Waiters played only three minutes in the second quarter and was precluded at halftime.

Lakers mentor Frank Vogel said that McGee is getting a MRI on his lower leg and that Waiters has a stressed crotch.

“We’ll see how they respond to treatment overnight,” Vogel said.
