IPL 2019- DAY 2- MATCH 3: WHAT’S IN A NAME?

Delhi Capitals released a lot of players before the auction, bought some new players and dropped their name as well. They have got Saurav Ganguly as the new advisor.

The next match is between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. This will be a home game for Mumbai Indians. MI is the most successful teams in the history of IPL as they have the highest winning percentage.

Team Formation

MI released some of the players that they bought in last year’s auction. Saurabh Tiwary, Pradeep Sangwan, Mohsin Khan, MD Nidheesh, Sharad Lumba, Tajinder Singh Dhillon, JP Duminy, Pat Cummins, Mustafizur Rahman, and Akila Dananjaya were released.

They bought Quinton de Kock from Royal Challengers Bangalore. Now they have three wicketkeepers in their squad along with Aditya Tare and Ishan Kishan.

They bought only a few players but the star of the auction for them was Yuvraj Singh whom they bought for his base price of 1 crore. They bought Lasith Malinga who was in their support staff last year for 2 crores. Along with these two, they bought Anmolpreet Singh, Barinder Sran, Pankaj Jaiswal, and Rasikh Salam.

Delhi Capitals formerly known as Delhi Daredevils released some crucial players like Gautam Gambhir, Jason Roy, Junior Dala, Liam Plunkett, Mohammed Shami, Sayan Ghosh, Daniel Christian, Glenn Maxwell, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, and Naman Ojha.

They traded Shikhar Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad for Abhishek Sharma, Vijay Shankar, and Shahbaz Nadeem.

They bought Hanuma Vihari, Axar Patel, Ishant Sharma, Ankush Bains, Nathu Singh, Colin Ingram, Sherfane Rutherford, Keemo Paul, Jalaj Saxena, and Bandaru Ayyappa.

Injury Update

MI have confirmed that Adam Milne has pulled out from this year’s IPL due to injury concerns. They are yet to announce the replacement.
