Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders to go against each other at the Chepauk. These two have been the best sides in the IPL this season till now. Both the teams have their own flaws but they have managed to correct them at the right time.
First Lungi Ngidi and then Dwayne Bravo’s injury have affected the game plan of CSK. The lack of a class bowler at the death has resulted in giving away a lot of runs. But at home, CSK is one hell of a dominant team because of the way track has played.
Chepauk’s love for spin bowling is clearly visible in the whatever amount of matches that have been played here. KKR who has three spinners in their team can make the batsman dance to their tune easily.
KKR has its own issues. But in the last match, some of those issues were solved. Chris Lynn’s batting at the top, death bowling and restricting the opponent to a low score, all these boxes were ticked in the last match. Also, Harry Gurney’s debut in the last match for KKR was also an added advantage for them.
Both the team has the more or less the same balance. The difference between the two, however, would be Andre Rusell. Expect an unchanged side from both the team and some serious cricket. Team batting second will have an advantage because of the dew factor.
