IPL has made players and teams to travel a long distance. Two players who have traveled right from the southern part of India to the northern part of India are Ravichandran Ashwin and Dinesh Karthik. Both of them are captaining their teams for the second season and both of them finds themselves in the same situation. Both Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders have played 12 matches and won 5 matches out of them. Both the teams need to win their next two games in order to qualify for the playoffs. But when both of them will go against each other tonight only one team will have their hopes of playing in the playoffs intact.
Both Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders depended on some players and they delivered. This looks good in a game or two but in the long run, everyone needs to deliver in the team.
Kings XI Punjab depended a lot on their top order consisting of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle. While Rahul is having a dream run in IPL for second consecutive season scoring 520 runs in 12 matches. Gayle has also made an impact with the bat scoring 448 runs in 11 matches. Apart from these two, no other player in the lineup has been consistent with their game.
Kolkata Knight Riders have Andre Rusell who has won matches for the team single-handedly during the start of the season. KKR made a few changes in last game which showed positive results. One such change was promoting Shubman Gill to the opening position and he delivered one of his best performance in IPL.
Both the teams have made their share of mistakes this year. Today the team which will make few mistakes will be the winner. Toss is important and team winning the toss will have more chances of winning the game.
